GARDENS AND PERGOLAS. My backyard has been an ongoing subject of etchings, inspired in part by those of Lucian Freud. A pergola garden outside the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam and the garden at Edna St. Vincent Millay's former house also became subjects for etchings and paintings.
